Position Summary:
Barbara Stone Foundation’s Greenville CAN Initiative Program Manager is primarily responsible for the
ongoing management of Greenville CAN operations, in congruence with the Barbara Stone Foundation
mission and vision, and the strategic priorities of Greenville CAN (as approved by the BSF Board of
Directors). To manage Greenville CAN, and complete other responsibilities, the Program Manager will
work under the direction of the Barbara Stone Foundation Executive Director, as a full-time Barbara
Stone Foundation employee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with BSF Executive Director on development and implementation of GCAN’s Strategic
Priorities - Facilitate GCAN Coalition Management Team (CLT) meetings
- Lead follow-through of all CLT Action Items
- Manage and coordinate Greenville CAN monthly Lunch & Learn series
- Assist with grant seeking efforts for GCAN Project Teams
- Engage in collaborative grant writing with the BSF Executive Director
- Grant implementation and reporting
- Collaboratively identify needs of GCAN Project Teams
- Actively engage/manage/facilitate/maintain Greenville CAN Project Teams
- Lead follow-through of all Project Team Action Items
- Collaboratively cultivate, maintain, and support strong partnerships with GCAN partners
(Coalition Management Team, Project Teams, Count Me In) – beyond grant driven needs or
parameters - Report on GCAN Project Team metrics, outcomes
- Assist with BSF’s Disability Sensitivity & Etiquette Training Program
- Facilitate/Lead/Maintain Greenville CAN Disability Employment Discussion Group (DED
- Lead follow-through of all DEDG Action Items
- Assist Job Liaison with the Business Development Advisory Group
- Manage and co-coordinate Greenville CAN Adaptive Recreation Day
- Represent BSF and GCAN at community activities to enhance community profile and further
organizational objectives - Attend and support additional Barbara Stone Foundation events (outside of Greenville CAN)
- Work as “co-chair” (with BSF Executive Director) and assist in facilitation, production, and
coordination of CAN Talks event – active Planning Committee member - Timely submission of monthly activity report to BSF Executive Director
- Present to BSF Board of Directors annually
- Manage Access GVL in partnership with the City of Greenville
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Thoroughly committed to the Foundation’s mission, vision and strategic plan

Team – a grassroots organization - Bachelor’s degree and 5 years minimum experience in related field
- Working knowledge of best practices for inclusion and equitable access for people with
disabilities - Strong presentation skills
- Experience seeking grants, grant writing, grant implementation and reporting
- Strong teamwork skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the disability community and services available in South Carolina
- Willingness to learn ADA compliance guidelines and best practices
- With future goal of achieving ADA Coordinator Certification
- High energy and enthusiasm for the work
Compensation:
- Starting salary: $50,000-$55,000/year
- $300/month health care premium coverage
